Human trafficking is not an isolated phenomenon.

 

Throughout its complex history in the 1900s, specifically, many topics and issues related to human trafficking have carried through time until the modern day. There is an importance in highlighting these related issues and discussing how past actions can impact their modern presence.

 

In the following articles, common themes of misinformation, lack of understanding, bias and personal intention, and related issues such as prostitution, sex trafficking, labor trafficking, and “comfort women” during and after World War II are expanded upon using historical research methods and perspective.
